What is the hypopressive method?
The hypopressive method is a gentle breathing and postural exercise that reduces intra-abdominal pressure, strengthens the diaphragm and improves its function. The correct functioning of the diaphragm is crucial for problems with the center of the body such as incontinence, a bulging belly, back pain, diastasis or reflux. When the diaphragm does not work, intra-abdominal pressure increases and the interplay between the diaphragm, deep muscles and pelvic floor muscles is disrupted. The hypopressive method restores this lost interplay, intra-abdominal pressure decreases, reflex activation of the deep muscles occurs and thus the aforementioned ailments are reduced or eliminated.

I am Ivana Delmotte Chalupecká, founder of the FitBelly® hypopressive method, expert and trainer of this method in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. I am also an occupational therapist and an enthusiastic mother of two young children.
I would compare my journey to the hypopressive method to a journey to truly understand the female body and CORE.
With almost 20 years of experience in sports and fitness, I have gone through every possible style – from dynamic classes like Body Combat to Pilates.
I spent 7 years in Spain , where I worked as an instructor and encountered the hypopressive method, which literally changed my life.

I used to spend hours doing classic abdominal exercises ,
but the feeling of a solid center was always only temporary..
I had to consciously keep pulling my stomach in,
which was uncomfortable and restrictive.
The constant tightening of my stomach restricted my breathing,
and during lessons when I needed to speak out loud,
often with a dumbbell in hand and loud music,
I wasn't using my diaphragm properly at all .
Everything went through my vocal cords until I finally overloaded them and had to undergo surgery.
This was a turning point for me!
I discovered the hypopressive method and replaced it
all traditional abdominal exercises with this method.
The results were incredible.
Since then, I don't have to do any sit-ups, no planks - my belly holds itself together and works in harmony with my breath and my entire CORE. Even after two births, everything stays where it should be, and I can breathe freely.
